Baari ("we", "our", "the app") is a salon discovery and booking app that helps customers find nearby
salons, view live wait times, book a slot or join a queue, and helps salon owners manage their queue,
staff, and services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your
choices. By using Baari, you agree to this policy.
In short: We collect only what is needed to run the booking service (your phone number,
email, name, approximate location, and booking activity). We do not sell your data. Payments for salon
services happen directly between you and the salon.
1. Information we collect
Account details: phone number, email address, and display name you provide at sign up.
Role: whether you use the app as a customer or a salon owner.
Location: your device location (with your permission) to show nearby salons and estimate
distance and travel time. Salon owners may set their salon's location.
Booking activity: bookings, queue position, tokens, check-ins, and service history.
Reviews and ratings: ratings and review text you submit for a salon.
Messages: chat messages exchanged between a customer and a salon during an active booking.
Salon business data (owners): salon name, contact number, chairs, staff, hours, prices,
offers, and earnings records.
AI Stylist inputs: optional preferences and questions you type (face shape, hair type,
notes) used to generate haircut suggestions.
2. How we use your information
To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
To show nearby salons, live wait times, and let you book or join a queue.
To let salon owners manage their queue, staff, and service history.
To enable in-app chat between a customer and a salon during a booking.
To generate hairstyle suggestions in the AI Stylist feature.
To improve reliability and fix problems.
3. Payments
Payments for salon services are made directly between the customer and the salon (for example via UPI).
Baari does not process card payments and does not store your bank or card details.
4. Third-party services
We use trusted third-party services to run the app:
Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) — to store account data, bookings,
and app content, and to sign you in. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Gemini AI — to generate AI Stylist suggestions from the preferences you enter.
OpenStreetMap & OSRM — to display maps and estimate distance/directions. Your location
may be used locally to center the map and calculate distance.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Limited information is shared only to provide the service — for example,
when you book, the salon can see your name, phone number, and booking details so they can serve you. Your
reviews are visible to other users. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Salon owners may clear their service/earnings history.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see below).
7. Your choices and rights
Delete account: you can delete your account and associated data from within the app (see the
section below).
Location: you can turn off location permission in your device settings; some features
(nearby salons, distance) will then be limited.
Access/correction: you can edit your profile details in the app, or contact us for help.
7a. Account and data deletion
How to delete your Baari account and data:
Open the Baari app and sign in.
Go to the Profile tab.
Scroll down and tap Delete account.
Confirm. Your account and associated data are permanently removed.
What is deleted: your account details (name, phone number, email), your bookings and queue
history, your reviews, chat messages, and — for salon owners — your salon profile and its data.
What may be kept: we do not retain personal data after deletion, except where required by law
or for fraud prevention. Any such data is kept only for the minimum period required and then removed.
If you cannot access the app, you can request account and data deletion by emailing
baari.app@gmail.com from your registered email, and we will
process your request.
8. Children's privacy
Baari is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures (secure authentication and access rules) to protect your data. No method
of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any
changes. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
